October 2008

We took the longer train ride along the old Delaware and Hudson line from Steamtown, Scranton, PA, to Carbondale, PA for the Pioneer Days. We got to Carbondale about an hour before the parade there so we had time to eat and take a walk.

He had a great time. We even saw Grampa and Nana at the crossing by our house when we got there.

Here’s the station in Carbondale.

Here’s the ride back. The whole thing cost $5 a person. What a bargain! The train ride was close to 45 minutes. We will be going next year.

Of course, she helped him at his birthday. You may as well say they are brother and sister.

He drew this just after his 3rd birthday. It’s amazing that he put in the eyes, nose and mouth like that. He erased it just after I took the shot. Fortunately for me, the camera was only in the next room.

Last night he said the following: “What the ummm, what the , you know what I mean, is going on”, and then he asked Mommy if he could say the word “heck”. Interesting.

Also he took Nana and Grandpa around the block to “solve a very strange mystery.” He may be watching too much Scooby Doo….

He got this funny face stuff from some show on Nic or Noggin. I do believe he’s got a good handle on it…

Why they allow children under 40″ on this is a mystery. He wanted to go on it so we let him go. He had to go alone. He was alone in the car. He was happy at first.

Then it got too much. He was being thrown all over the car. He started to cry. Then the ride guy stopped the ride and snatched him out. Then it was back to the carousel.

He liked the carosel. We went on it a few times. He didn’t even mind the ones that went up and down.
